¡ FELIZ CINCO DE MAYO !

I’m just about to head over to a friends house where we will be enjoying these delicioso margaritas.

I used Bobby Flay’s recipe for Frozen Watermelon Margaritas and I can’t wait to serve ‘em up!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 5 cups cubed watermelon, seeds removed
  • 1/2 cup simple syrup (equal amounts sugar and water, heated until sugar melts), cooled
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 cups silver tequila
  • 4 ounces orange liqueur
  • 2 ounces melon liqueur
  • Watermelon wedges, for garnish

So get out that huge watermelon

Awwww looks so juicy!

Chop it up into cubes and measure out 5 cups

Puree it in a food processor

And pour it into ice cube trays and pop it in the freezer.  Or maybe, like my parents, you don’t have ice cube trays lol.  I ended up pouring it into ziploc bags! Can you say lame?!

Then in a few minutes I’m going to take out the frozen watermelon puree and blend it up in the blender with all the other ingredients.

And after that I’ll be tasting one of these bad boys :)

¡Salud!
