Yes I read the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, but no I don’t believe in magic pants that look good on everyone! That’s why I’m not a big fan of skinny jeans—jeans that I’m sure only look super good on junior high girls. Yes I have a pair or two :), but no I don’t think they have an inherent power of making everyone look skinny. The name is deceiving!
That’s why today I’m super excited to share my love for wide-legged jeans.
Here’s Why I Love ‘Em
They’re a flattering fit for real women with real curves (and obviously they also look great on junior high girls- but what doesn’t?). They’re hip huggers that you can wear confidently, knowing that they’re slimming your thighs and embracing your curves!
Here’s How I Wear ‘Em
I almost insist on wearing wide-legged jeans with some sort of wedge. Adding a wedge accentuates one of my favorite things about them, the skinny thigh effect!
Just as you want to pair a loose fitted top with skinny jeans, a more fitted top is best paired with wide-legged jeans.
Consider them high waisted. In my opinion, jeans are way more comfortable when they’re high waisted. They tuck in your tummy and also get ride of any butt crack insecurities!
Belts and tucked in shirts look fabulous with this denim fit!
Here’s What to Remember About ‘Em
When you wear wide-legged jeans it’s easy to let them swallow your thighs! Remember that they look best when they start fitted and then take a wider form near your calves.
One of my least favorite things about some of the wide-legged jeans that I own is that they’re too short! Remember that keeping them longer ensures that they look great when paired with wedges or heels.
Every person has a different shape so even this awesome fit might need some modifications to fit you right. Remember that what’s important is what you’re comfortable in.
